Phase I AZ ELA Common Core Standards | 2-Day Teacher Training
This Phase 1 AZ ELA Common Core 2-Day Teacher conference provides teachers, staff development specialists and teacher-leaders an introduction to the Arizona Common Core Standards. Teachers will learn to navigate the K-12 ELA 2010 documents and prepare for content rigor and cognitive demand changes in instructional practice. Topics include: introduction and overview; making sense of appendices; cognitive demand; deconstructing standards; PARCC assessment.
This training is presented as a K-12 session.
Lunch will be included.

Module1: The Introduction and Overview
Module2: Making Sense of the Appendices
Module 3: Rigor
Module 4: Deconstructing the Standard
Module 5: Assessment
Each of the topics listed above is presented as a stand-alone module. This will enable participants to flexibly plan trainings. The purpose of this conference is to provide pertinent information and materials for participants to use for future on-site trainings.
