Phase I AZ ELA Common Core Standards | 3-Day Leadership Institute Trainer of Trainers
This Phase 1 AZ ELA Common Core 3-Day Leadership Institute using the trainer of trainer model to assist LEAs in the implementation of the 2010 Arizona English Language Arts Standard. Participants who meet the certification requirements will receive training materials, and receive updates and changes to the training. The Arizona ELA Standards Leadership Institute (TOT) is designed primarily for staff developers and school leaders with experience and background in teaching and assessing Language Arts. This training will focus on the components of the Arizona ELA Standards including text complexity, rigor and the implementation process.
Attendance of Phase 1 ELA Training is required to register for this workshop
This training is presented as a K-12 session.
Session topics include:
Understand the research, background and history of the Arizona ELA Standards.
Review documents relating to the Standards (Appendices, Alignment Document, Summary of Changes, and Writing Addendum).
Gain a deeper understanding of Text Complexity and Rigor and how to recognize it in the classroom.
Deconstruct the Standards and become familiar with the trajectory required to meet the College and Career Readiness Standard.
Build confidence in the ability to assist stakeholders during the implementation process.
