Phase I AZ Mathematics Common Core Standards | 1-Day Administrator Training
The one-day conference will introduce district and site leaders to the content and pedagogy shifts needed for implementation for implementation of Arizona’s Common Core Standards in Mathematics. Administrators will learn the cognitive and pedagogy implications of integrating the mathematical practices and discuss the three shifts – focus, coherence and rigor.
A variety of activities will be offered focusing on building awareness and knowledge of the new standards:
Navigating the new standards
Unwrapping the big ideas of the standards
Investigating the eight mathematical practices.
Digging deeper into the three shifts – focus, coherence and rigor
