The two-day conference will provide training and tools for county, district, and school teams of teacher leaders to implement Arizona’s Common Core Standards in Mathematics. This training may be presented in grade level bands (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and High school) or as a K-12 session.
A variety of activities will be offered focusing on building awareness and knowledge of the new standards:
Navigating the new standards
Unwrapping the big ideas of the standards
Investigating the eight mathematical practices
Digging deeper into the three shifts – focus, coherence and rigor
Considering implications of implementing the new standards
