Special Engagement: Literacy and the Common Core with Doug Fisher
This is a phase 2 English Language Arts (ELA) professional development opportunity in collaboration with the Arizona K-12 Center that supports the content and instructional shifts that will impact classroom practice to ensure students are college and career ready.

Join author Douglas Fisher as he details how to implement the Common Core State Standards within a powerful collaborative model: Professional Learning Communities at Work (PLCs). In large group and breakout sessions, come discover the fundamental learning targets necessary for college and career readiness and how students can master them at specific grade levels.

Learning Objectives:
  • Learn comprehensive and research-affirmed analysis tools and strategies to help collaborative teams develop and assess student understanding.
  • Use grade-specific examples and scenarios to learn the what and how necessary for students to master the standards.
  • Explore Common Core English Language Arts in a PLC at Work, Grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12, a five-book series that illustrates how to successfully implement the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts in K-12 instruction, curriculum, assessment, and intervention practices.
Additional Information:

Registration includes training, materials, continental breakfast, lunch, and breaks. All participants will receive Common Core English Language Arts in a PLC at Work, Grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12.

Cost will be $150.00
