Writing About Texts for ELL Students Grades K-2
Writing about Texts is designed for SEI classroom teachers, teachers with ILLPs, and ELL coaches and administrators. Based on research that indicates explicit connections between reading and writing. This Phase II training will focus on enhancing the writing of English language learners with effective instructional practices and maintain the relationship between AZCCRS and ELPS. Writing about texts deepens reading and writing skills and this session will explore research-based practices to reduce the constraints which challenge ELL students as writers. Participants will receive Best Practices in Writing Instruction with emphasis on research by Tim Shanahan, Carol B. Olson, Robin Scarcella, and Tina Matuchniakl.
