Webinar: Digital Writing and Use of Media Tools in ELA Classrooms
Webinar Ė Digital Writing and Use of Media Tools in ELA Classrooms
First of all, letís all agree that educators should never entirely give up crayons, pencils, ink, and paper, especially with our younger writers. Pencil on paper will always have value. However, todayís educators must acknowledge that is really isnít a question of if we should use technology to teach writing, how we must use technology to teach writing. While the hype about 21st century Literacies may seem overwhelming, these digital skills and the habits of mind they foster have become an important focus in our current discussions about instruction and assessment. Digital writing is really the way for our 21st century students to be fully literate in their digital world and enables them to become responsible and effective digital citizens. This webinar will look at how 'text' is crafted for the web, for audio, for video, and even social media.
