Standards and Assessment Division School Safety and Prevention

Comprehensive Health Surveillance System (CHSS)
CHSS is a collaborative effort between the Research and Evaluation Unit and School Safety and Prevention Program at the Arizona Department of Education (ADE).
The purpose of the CHSS is to provide:
- Ongoing, systematic collection, analysis and interpretation of data essential to the planning, implementation and evaluation of school safety and prevention programs,
- Data needed to meet federal, state and local reporting requirements, and
- Information that demonstrates the relationship between a safe school environment and academic achievement.
