National School Lunch Program Overview
The National School Lunch (NSLP) portion of the Child Nutrition
system enables program participants and Arizona Department
of Education (ADE) staff to administer NSLP through programs accessed
over the Internet. Automating administration will reduce paperwork, increase
accuracy, and speed up payments.
Program participants can use the Child Nutrition system to:
- Apply to participate or re-enroll in the NSLP.
- Submit and revise claims (meal
counts) for reimbursement.
ADE staff can use the Child Nutrition system to:
- Approve or deny program applications.
- Administer holds or suspensions.
- Process NSLP claims
and revisions.
- Complete accounting functions.
- Post payments and submit upload files to the State
Treasury for disbursement to participants.
- Process required reports for submission to the USDA.
